The 2010-11 Wyandot County Indians won the Division 3 Special Olympics Ohio championship. The Indians had been to state eight times since the tournament began in the early 1970s before finally winning their first championship with a 66-54 victory against the Muskingum County Tigers on March 26, 2011, at Bowling Green State University.

Team members included Ben Frey, Brent Hemmerly, James Yoho, Connor Swartz, Tim Wickham, Amber Bradner, James Stone, Billy McBee, Lisa Brown and the late Lana Smith. Coaches were Therese “Bucko” Barron and Torry Fillmore, with manager Ashley Beamer and scorekeeper Mindy Bowman.

The Indians won the area tournament by defeating the Ashland Dragons and won close games in the section tournament, the high school equivalent of regionals, beating Allen County 55-48 and then Sandusky County 39-37 to advance to the state tournament. Wyandot County beat Ashtabula County 64-54 to reach the championship game.

In the title game, McBee scored 41 points, while Yoho helped spark a 10-0 second-half run with a pair of steals that allowed the Indians take control after they led by one at halftime. Frey finished with 11 points, Stone scored 10 points, and Swartz scored 4 points. McBee was big throughout the tournament run. He had 31 points in the semifinal victory, while Stone scored 17 and Frey had 8.

In the section tournament, McBee had 30 points against Allen County and scored 21 points against Sandusky County. The Indians led Allen County by just one point before pulling ahead in the second half. They were up nine at the break against Sandusky County and then held on in the second half. Stone had 13 and 10 points in the section games.

The Indians finished with a 13-3 record.
